19 months

19 months? Really? 19 months seems so close to 2 years old. And 2 years old is practically kindergarten. Where has my baby gone??

Eli is enjoying running everywhere. He has one speed and it isn't slow. He really has a lot of endurance too. We go for walks around the block and he walks the whole way himself.

His books are still his favorite thing. He's still into Pajama Time, My Valentine for Jesus, The Going to Bed Book, and more recently, Hey Wake Up. In Hey Wake Up, there is a line that reads "Milk and cookies and broccoli stew. Ew!" Eli wrinkles his nose and says "ew."

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a bedtime favorite. Eli does the hotdog dance at the end of the show and then waves goodbye to Mickey as the Clubhouse disappears.

Eli is doing well with manners. He says "see" for please and uses the sign for thank you.

Sleeping has been back to normal for awhile now, thank goodness. Eli turns on his sound machine and then hits the on button on his cd player for the lullabies to start. Then it's prayers, hugs and kisses and in the crib he goes.

And of course some things have never changed, Eli and his BFF Hoover...

Somebody got a haircut today

It wasn't his first. In fact, it's his third real haircut. I've given him plenty of trims, but the kid has so much hair that he really needs a professional touch. So plenty of tears and one hair covered lollipop later, here's the result:

4 Celebrations

1. What a wonderful Mother's Day... Kevin and Eli surprised me in the morning with presents and this.

What a beautiful bag...

...and even more beautiful were the contents inside, even if the contents shifted during transport.

I also got 2 new tops and 2 cute cards

2.My sister-in-law Julie threw a surprise 40th birthday party for Bill at Maggiano's in Tyson's Corner. The food was great, and Eli had a ball chasing a cute little girl named Amy. (See the affection below).

3. It's kind of an odd thing to celebrate but... On Tuesday morning, I rear-ended a car on Rt. 270 on my way to drop off Eli. It was my first accident ever and I caused it. :( I'm so thankful that no one was injured. Eli was so good while I held him on the side of the highway in rush hour traffic for over 30 minutes. He and I said a thank you prayer and I couldn't help but smile as he folded his hands and squeezed his eyes shut. A celebration of thankfulness!

4. On Wednesday, Kevin and I celebrated our anniversary. We celebrated our 3 years together with a steak dinner and leftover Georgetown cupcakes. I'm so lucky to have a husband that puts up with my craziness, who laughs at me when I do the hotdog dance with Eli, and who accepts my orange sweatpants.

Nan, Tee Ball, and the Fence... Great Weekend!

We headed up to Milton on Saturday for a quick visit. My Nan had been in the hospital for awhile and was home again. So we went up to spend time with her. The weather was beautiful on Saturday. Mim and Pop were eagerly waiting for Eli to arrive. They had bought a bat and tee set and Pop taught Eli how to throw and hit the ball. It was a big hit, and he caught on quickly. He had so much fun running around their driveway and chasing the ball. Nan and Aunt Jo came over for dinner. It was just so nice spending time with all of them.

On Sunday after church, we stopped by the Fence. Oh the Fence- a sure sign that spring is here. So very delicious. We ate at Nan's house, and Eli had his own piece of fish and a sip of my lemon/orange blend. Oh I love the Fence. I know, I digress... Here are some pictures.
