Day Out with Thomas
We spent the day Friday at Strasburg Railroad near Lancaster. Thomas was visiting from the Island of Sodor, so we ordered tickets and went to see him. Since the Thomas train ride was only 20 minutes or so, we got tickets for the regular train ride, too.
The event was great. It definitely was crowded- there were tons of the 2-5 crowd. And, oh my goodness, the number of strollers was crazy! But it was well organized and laid out well.
After the Thomas train ride, we did some fun Thomas activities. Eli got some temporary tattoos, and all three boys played in a tent set up with lots of train tables. In the tent filled with overpriced Thomas merchandise, Eli was allowed to pick one very reasonably priced Thomas book.
The boys did well, considering nap schedules were a little out of whack. But we were all exhausted by the time we left, and the three of them were snoozing within a couple minutes. It was a great day and we definitely made some great memories.

A Trip to the Park
The weather was beyond beautiful on Sunday, so we took the kids to the new park in Urbana in the afternoon. Miss Julianna and her parents met us there. The kids loved it of course. Ryan and Spencer now swing in separate swings. (When I take them to the playground near our house by myself, I still wedge them in one swing together. It often ends badly with one of them reverse head-butting the other.) They love to go high and can swing forever. Eli was very much into the red car. We had pretend races, and I can vouch that he is pretty fast in his race car.
Can I place an order for more of these beautiful days?
