All Aboard!

My mom called Sunday night to see if we wanted to meet them in Strasburg, PA on Tuesday. Strasburg is located next to Lancaster and is a little town with a big railroad. Eli was so excited. The weather was absolutely perfect. We got there a little before noon and rode the train out to a picnic area. The conductor came through and got our tickets. The train ride was so nice and relaxing. Eli loved looking out the window and naming everything we passed.

The train stops at a little picnic area, and we chose to get off there and eat lunch. My parents packed a delicious picnic lunch and Eli got to play on the see-saw and swings afterwards. We stayed there for about an hour and then caught the next train to return to the station. Eli also enjoyed riding a small Thomas train ride and visting the toy store.

Just a little up the road is a place called the Choo Choo Barn. My parents got us all tickets to visit this neat place. http://www.choochoobarn.com/. It's a huge model train display- really detailed and really cool. Eli really wanted to play with all of the little pieces and didn't like that he could only look and not touch.

Thanks Mim and Pop for a wonderful day. We all had so much fun!

We def. need to do this! We took Callan to National Train Day in DC this past weekend and he was so disappointed that the trains were not moving (just for touring). We promised him we'd go on a train ride soon. This looks great!
